Booking.com does not automatically calculate or add a pet fee to the reservation total. Because of this, Hostify is also unable to send a specific pet‑fee amount directly to Booking.com.
Instead, Booking.com treats pet fees as part of your policies, not as a price component. This means the pet fee is displayed to guests as a disclaimer only, not as a calculated charge.
1. Pet fees are shown to guests as a disclaimer only
When you set a pet fee in your Booking.com policies, it appears on the listing as a note such as: “Pets allowed – charges may apply.”
The same applies in Hostify: you can choose whether pets are allowed using the Pets Allowed toggle in the Guest Controls section of the Policies tab of each listing.
This information is shown as a disclaimer only, and Booking.com does not process or add the fee automatically.
2. The pet fee is not added to the booking price. Booking.com does not include the pet fee in:
the nightly rate
the total reservation price
the payment breakdown
Guests will not see the pet fee added to their final amount.
3. The property must collect the fee manually
Since Booking.com does not charge the pet fee automatically, the host is responsible for collecting it:
at check‑in,
or through their own payment method
All pet‑related charges must be handled manually by the property.
