How to Create a Guest House Manual in MrGG

The House Manual is part of the MrGG guest guide and allows you to share important information with your guests — such as house rules, instructions for using appliances, useful contacts, and other details that will help make their stay smoother and more enjoyable.

Steps to Create a House Manual

1. Create a New Template

Enter a name for the manual and select the language in which it will be created.

2. Edit the Content

Open the editing page and enter the necessary information. You can use the available variables, which automatically populate data for the respective property.

3. Add Important Information for Guests

Describe all the details guests need to know during their stay — property rules, instructions, helpful tips, and more.

4. Add Contact Information

You can add the contact person’s name, email, phone number, and photo.

5. Select the Properties

From the menu below, choose the properties to which this manual will apply.

6. Save the Settings

Once you are done, save the changes. If needed, you can add additional variables with property-specific information.

7. Add Additional Languages

From the same menu, you can add other language versions of the manual.

What Information Can Be Included in the House Manual

In the guest guide, you can include information such as:

• house rules

• check-in and check-out instructions

• Wi-Fi details

• instructions for using appliances

• parking information

• recommendations for restaurants and attractions

• contact information in case guests need assistance

Using RTF Custom Fields in House Manuals

House manual templates support Listing Custom Fields as placeholders — including the new RTF Text type. This is especially useful when different properties have unique instructions that require formatting, images, or structured content.

How it works:

  1. Create an RTF Text custom field in Settings → Custom Fields (e.g., "Heating Instructions", "Appliance Guide", "Pool Instructions")

  2. Add content per listing — go to the listing’s Settings page, find the Custom Fields section, and click the RTF field to open the rich text editor. You can add formatted text, headings, lists, and images.

  3. Insert the placeholder in your template — when editing a house manual template, click the Insert Placeholder button and look for the Listing Custom Fields section. Click the placeholder (e.g., #{{custom_field_1234}}) to insert it.

  4. Preview with actual values — when you assign the template to a listing on the Guest Guide page, the preview shows the actual replaced content, including all formatting and images from the RTF field.

Example: You have 10 properties, each with a different heating system. Instead of creating 10 separate house manual templates, create one template with a #{{custom_field_XXXX}} placeholder for heating instructions. Then add the specific RTF content (with photos of thermostats, step-by-step instructions) to each listing individually. The guest will see the correct instructions for their property.

Supported RTF content: bold, italic, underline, headings (H1–H4), ordered and unordered lists, text colors, links, images (uploaded or pasted from clipboard), and text alignment.

💡 Tip

We recommend creating your House Manual in multiple languages if you host guests from different countries. This improves the guest experience and reduces the number of questions during the stay.
