Activity log

See who did what in your Hostify account over the last 90 days, when, and from which IP address and country.

Written by David

The Activity log shows what the people in your Hostify account did over the last 90 days: who changed what, which pages they opened, when, and from which IP address and country. Use it to find out who made a change, or to review your account after a security concern.

Where to find it

Go to Settings -> Security Settings -> Activity log tab.

The tab is available to users who can open Security Settings, usually users with the Administrator role.

The Activity log tab in Security Settings with its filters and the latest changes, including an entry by Hostify Staff

What you see

The list shows the newest activity first, 50 entries per page. Use Previous and Next to move between pages.

  • Time: when it happened, in your computer's time zone.

  • User: the team member who did it. Actions by Hostify staff, for example our support team helping you, are shown as Hostify Staff.

  • Action: what was done, for example Reservations › Update or Listings › Edit descriptions. The tag in front of it shows the kind of request: GET opened a page or loaded data, POST, PUT or DELETE saved, changed or removed something.

  • Object: the ID of the reservation, listing or other record it concerned, when there is one.

  • IP address: where the request came from, with the country in brackets.

  • Result: blue means it went through; red means it was refused or failed.

Click an entry to see the details of the request, including the values that were submitted. Passwords, keys and card details are never shown.

An Activity log entry opened to show the submitted values, with the password shown as REDACTED

For Hostify Staff entries, only the time, the action and the result are shown.

Filtering the log

  • From and To: any period within the last 90 days. The last 7 days are shown by default.

  • Show:

    • Changes (default): everything that saved, changed or removed something.

    • Page views: the pages people opened.

    • All requests: everything, including the data Hostify loads in the background while a page is open.

  • User: one team member, or Hostify Staff.

  • Search: a word from the action (for example pricing or amenities), a reservation or listing ID, an IP address, or text that was submitted.

Click Apply to update the list. If a search finds more than 10,000 entries, narrow the dates or filters to see older ones.

What is not in the log

  • Changes made by channels (for example Airbnb or Booking.com), automations, and API integrations that are not tied to a team member.

  • Sign-in attempts.

  • Activity older than 90 days.

If you see activity you do not recognise, for example a change from an unfamiliar country or IP address, have that user change their password right away and contact Hostify support.
